On the weekend of 18-19 May 2024, Washinkai Spain took a club team (ages 10 - 15) to the XIX National Club Karate Championship, held in Manises, Valencia.
The club returned to Javea with a total of nine medals, consolidating its position in the regional and national competition.
Zurine Martinez rose to the top by winning the gold medal in the 10-11 year old female category.
In the 12-13 year olds, Tristan Soler and Henar Soler took bronze
Sergio Box and Alicia Fernandez won gold in their respective 14-15 year old categories and their partner Janneke Platinga won bronze.
Those were not the only medals! To top it all off Lena Ivars, Alicia Fernandez and Sergio Box took bronze in the team Kata category.
In addition to these achievements, the club wants to highlight the effort and excellent marks achieved by the rest of the club's participants such as Matias Gonzalez, Kike Valles, Liam Garcia, Paula Serra, Marta Morales, Irene Moya, Alex Maldonado and of course, its coach Sensei Geovanny Sanchez Salazar, 5th Dan.
