On Thursday 19 May, Sensei Geovanny Sanchez Salazar, 5th Dan, organised another very successful Spring Gasshuku in his home town of Javea in the Costa Blanca. The weather throughout the weekend was between 28-31 Centigrade, which made training a bit hot, but very pleasant for pre- and post-training! Thursday evening consisted of a general course for all grades and many students from other styles attended. On Friday evening, many successful Shodan gradings took place, followed by a celebratory dinner at a local restaurant. Saturday training was in Benitachell between 11 am to 1 pm and again, we welcomed stylists other than Washinkai into the two hour session. A superb luncheon followed at a hotel overlooking Javea bay and port.
Everyone agreed that it had been a spectacular Spring Gasshuku – we look forward to hosting many more Washinkai students at 2023’s Spring Gasshuku in Spain!
