On Sunday 3 March, Washinkai held its 45th National Championships at the Canons Leisure Centre, Mitcham, Surrey.

Numbers were down substantially from last year's competition due to the huge increase in the cost of living as well as the ULEZ charge in London.

However, the day was a huge success, with many of our clubs from the UK competing, as well as Spain and Switzerland being represented.

The Gasshuku was held at the Nuffield Fitness Centre in Chichester, with 7 Club Instructors plus students ranging in grades from 6th kyu to 7th Dan in attendance.

Saturday's training was very demanding and culminated in several Dan gradings taking place.  All successfully passed and in the evening, students went to a local restaurant to celebrate.

Sunday's course had the Association's new Chief Referee, Sensei Neil Benton giving a lecture on the WKF rules.
