On Thursday 19 May, Sensei Geovanny Sanchez Salazar, 5th Dan, organised another very successful Spring Gasshuku in his home town of Javea in the Costa Blanca. The weather throughout the weekend was between 28-31 Centigrade, which made training a bit hot, but very pleasant for pre- and post-training! Thursday evening consisted of a general course for all grades and many students from other styles attended. On Friday evening, many successful Shodan gradings took place, followed by a celebratory dinner at a local restaurant.

An excellent turn out at this weekend’s Gasshuku in Lydd. Quite a few students were going for their Shodan and Nidan, so training was intensified on the Saturday, with an excellent grading taking place late Saturday afternoon. The slightly damp weather on Saturday did not curb the enthusiasm for hard work, rewarded by glorious sunshine on Sunday! Many congratulations go to our new Shodans and Nidans!

We covered many kata, kihon and self defense techniques.

Congratulations to three of our newest Washinkai Dan Grades from our Northern Ireland Club, run by Chief Instructor Dave Martin, 7th Dan. The Grading took place on the 18th January 2022.
